This 1975 kit designed by Julie Nixon Eisenhower has the following quotation:
"Whenever I look at President Eisenhower's painting 'White Church in the Country' I fell a certain serenity and peace. One can almost sense the stillness in the air which surrounds the little church. President Eisenhower painted this snow scene in the 100 degree weather of Palm Desert in 1961. When my parents visited him on the desert that summer, he offered them on of his 'daubs'. The choice was between the white church and a tropical seascape. Since we had just moved to California and already missed the change of seasons, my mother chose the snow scene 'because we may never live in Washington again'. I hope you find the quiet beauty in the crewel embroidery of the 'White Church in the Country'."
